William Brendan Gallagher

William Brendan Gallagher, 81, of Kingston, Okla. passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Alliance Health Center in Durant, Okla. He was born on October 10, 1939 in Hereford, Texas to John Paul Gallagher and Hedwig (Hattie) Angelina Grimm Gallagher.

Brendan was raised in Hereford where he graduated from the Hereford High School and later joined the United States Marines. After returning to Hereford, he began farming for his dad in south Texas then southern Colorado then working at the family irrigation business, Western Pump and Equipment.

In 1982, he moved to Kingston, Okla. where he opened a boat shop in Buncombe Creek. In the mid 90’s, Brendan moved to Texline, Texas where he farmed and ranched. In 2017, he retired and moved back to his lake home in Kingston. He was a member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus. Brendan was a devout Roman Catholic and was very active in church activities and leadership.

Brendan enjoyed many things in his life. He and his family were avid motorcycle riders and spent many weekends trail riding in the mountains. He loved cooking for people, and he put on many fund raisers for the communities where he lived. The thing he loved most was fishing and he would fish every chance he got.

Brendan touched many lives and he will be greatly missed by so many people.

He is survived by his children; Scott Gallagher and wife Jodi of Grove, Okla., Julie Payne of Kingston, Okla., grandchildren; Claire Gallagher of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kayla Gallagher of Kansas City, Mo., Katherine Gallagher of Stillwater, Okla., Lacey Yates and husband Daniel of Frisco, Texas, Rikki Payne of Kingston, Okla., Kory Payne and fiancé Jordon Sellers of Sherman, Texas, Jacob and Adison Baker of Tulsa, Okla., great grandchildren; Ezralyn, Gunner, Wyatt, Alysa and Kayden, brothers; Tim Gallagher and wife Mary Alice of Clayton, N.M., Vincent Gallagher and wife Betty Jean of Amarillo, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brendan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pat Gallagher and sister in-law, Patsy Gallagher; brother, Eddie Gallagher; and a nephew, Gary Neil Gallagher.

Funeral Service will be Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hereford, Texas. Interment will be at the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Hereford, Texas. Father Nick Gerber will officiate the service. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Viewing will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony’s.
