Girl abducted in Dickson; found safe, abductor still at large

While many were celebrating St. Patty’s Day, a Dickson family were rocked to their core. A 12-year-old girl was abducted right out of her own yard on March 17, 2021. She was found safe, however, the perpetrator is still on the loose.

Wesley Jordan, the preteen’s father, came home to find his daughter missing. He initially looked outside, even though she is not supposed to be outside without her parents being home.

After calling his wife, Paulisha, and her calling 911, they begin searching for her. What Paulisha found was terrifying for any parent.

“I found my daugther in a person’s yard,” she said. “She was wet and dirty and scared and crying.”

Paulisha said her daughter was abducted, but her daughter was able to escape.

“This man pulled over and snatched her,” she said. “Right up in broad daylight, right out in our front yard.”

The incident happened so quick, that the girl was not able to get a lot of identifying markings.

“All she can really tell us is that it was a man, Paulisha said. “He had blue eyes, a black long sleeve shirt, black pants. The vehicle was some sort of SUV type, and it was dark in color, like maybe dark blue or black.”

Wesley said this incident has changed a few things around the house.

“She’s going to need counseling,” Wesley said, “and I think my other two children are going to need counseling, too.”

“She’s sleeping in our bed, she’s having a hard time going outside,” Wesley continued. “She doens’t want to be left alone.”

Paulisha said a camera on the property would have changed the entire scope of the investigation.

“If we would have had some surveillance outside we probably would have had the make, model of the vehicle and possibly even a license plate,” Paulisha said.

Police are taking all the information provided by the victim and doing a full investigation.

Anyone with any information about the abduction is encouraged to call the Carter County Sheriff’s Office at (58)) 223-6014 or the Dickson Police Department at (580) 223-0544.
