Beverly Stedman

Beverly Ann Stedman, 81, of Moore, Okla. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 02, 2020. She was born on February 10, 1939 to Irene and Olin E. Scott in Seminole, Okla. She grew up the youngest of fourtwo sisters and a brother-at the Pure Oil Camp in southern Oklahoma, attending grade school in Grantham and graduating from Madill High School in 1956.

Beverly was employed by two newspapers in Ardmore, Okla. and Tyler, Texas; and became a dental assistant for several dentists for over 15 years.

Beverly was blessed with a creative side, delving into painting, cake decorating, gardening, crafts, and stained glass. She was a wonderful cook. There is not much Beverly couldn’t do if she set her mind to it.

Beverly married Lynn Stedman in 1975, each bringing two daughters to the marriage. Together, Lynn and Beverly enjoyed OU football and basketball games, traveling with camping clubs, and fishing on Lake Texoma. They were married for 37 years until Lynn’s passing in 2012.

Beverly’s nurturing spirit was evident as she cared for her children, grandchildren, and especially for Lynn and Horace Self during their lengthy illnesses, staying by their side to ensure all their needs were met.

Always the life of the party, Beverly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends where there was always a good time and laughter in the air.

After retiring, Beverly served the city of Moore, holding several board positions at the Brand Senior Center and Aging Services, as well as volunteering at events to support the center. She looked forward each day to playing cards with the many friends she made at the Center.

Beverly is survived by her daughters Cindy Hooper (Walter) of Nocona, Texas; Christi Stringer (Matt) of Bedford, Texas; Kalynne Johnson (Harold) of Kingston, Okla.; and Kathy Troxell (Kevin) of Kingston, Oklahoma. Granddaughters Hadyn Pound (Matthew) of Tuttle, Okla.; Dawn Thornton of Moore, Okla.; Kila Stevens (Cody) of Kingston Okla.; and Kim Pfaff (Justin) of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren Koltyn, Preslie, Kayton, Lynnon, Emree, Brooklyn, McCoy, and twins on the way; and two sisters Marilyn Gaylor of Ardmore, Okla. and Naomi Waller of Waukee, Iowa.
