Hopefully, most of you have already planted your root vegetables. I believe summer is just a hop away. May 1 is coming up this Friday, so be sure to follow the old tradition of leaving a May Day basket of flowers or treats on your neighbor's doorstep or go on a May Day picnic.
This special day was introduced with the purpose of celebrating spring, a tradition which cheerfully brings in May flowers after the April showers.
The Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary has not been able to meet for their monthly luncheons but are still planning and getting ready for their first annual Rummage/Bake sale which is planned for July 4. The funds will help with their efforts on providing material for their Lap Quilts, duffel bags, etc. that get donated to our local nursing homes and Veteran's facilities.
This will also provide monies to help furnish toys, canned good or supplies to our local nursing homes as well as Inca and local charities. I will provide more information depending on the outcome of the Pandemic restrictions.
I have noticed quite a few "Painted Rocks" around town. These are very pretty, colorful rocks that children and parents are placing around the area, whether near the lake or in a local park.
Some bear inspirational messages and others may portray a cute animal face. It is a great pick-me-up and puts a smile on your face. Be sure to leave your own "Painted Rock" somewhere for others to find.
For all of you who use Facebook, you know there are a multitude of local restaurants advertising their menus and family specials.
All we have to do is call, order and pick-up. My Friday night Date Night has now been changed to ordering from a local eatery, then having a picnic or taking it out on the boat. We can still make "nice" of this situation.
"Your limitation...it's only your Imagination" Stay safe and have a great week!
