The Madill Rose Garden Club members met November 14 in the Madill Library Community Room to plan their annual Christmas Dinner and Party. The Christmas Dinner and Party will be held on December 5 at 11:30 a. m. at LaGrande Restaurant.
Members will need to bring a Christmas ornament for gift exchange and monetary donation for Christmas Party at Brookside Manor. A volunteer is needed to plan games or entertaining activity for club members. Please contact Susan Patton if you are willing to coordinate the entertainment.
Linda Kaye Green presented a program based on “A Children’s Guide to Gardening.” She quizzed members with twenty questions of fast facts of gardening. Members were amazed with the many facts we should know, gave us an opportunity to have a learning experience.
Susan Patton, President, presided over the meeting. The “Pledge of Allegiance” and “Gardener’s Conservation Pledge” were recited in unison. Becky Ninemire, Secretary used “What Are You Thankful for this Thanksgiving?” September minutes were read and approved. Kaye Jay presented a monthly Treasurer’s report.
The Madill Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in decorating and riding on a float, contact Susan Patton.
The Oklahoma State Garden Club President is encouraging all Oklahoma Garden Club Members to plant a tree this year. Susan took a survey of the members in attendance and twelve trees have been planted or given to people in Marshall County to plant in their yards. We encourage planting trees in Marshall County.
The hostess Sandra Sweeney served pumpkin cake, spiced nuts, coffee, and water to Sandy Baker, Willa Dean Caldwell, Linda Kaye Green, Becky Ninemire, Susan Patton, Sandra Sweeney, and Karen Wellman.
