The Forecast Calls for

A more active weather pattern will develop over southern Oklahoma this weekend as upper-level southwest winds strengthen and low-level southerly flow brings in a humid air mass from the Gulf. This southwest flow will send several disturbances across the region ahead of a larger system over the Southwest U.S., which is expected to lift into the Plains early next week. Storm chances stay low through Friday, but a more organized round of thunderstorms is expected from Saturday night into Sunday, bringing the best chance for heavy rain and severe storms in the Madill area. Additional storms are possible into mid-week, and with a humid air mass in place, there is the potential for strong to severe storms as the pattern remains active. Flash-flooding concerns may also increase if storms repeatedly move over the same areas.
