Super C Gives Back: Kingston Grocery Supports Local Families This Holiday Season The spirit of giving is alive and well in Kingston, where Super C Grocery continues to prove that generosity starts at home. As the holidays approach, the locally owned supermarket is stepping up onceagaintosupportfamilies in need through a series of charitable efforts aimed at fighting hunger and spreading cheer across Marshall County.
Earlier this week, Super C presented $800 wroth of gift cards to the Hope for Marshall County Food Pantry, a vital community resource that serves hundreds of families throughout the region. The donation will help stock pantry shelves with essential food items just in time for Thanksgiving, ensuring that no family goes without a meal during the holidays.
The giving doesn’t stop there. Super C has also joined forceswithTheMadillRecord for the newspaper’s annual Thanksgiving drawing, contributing a holiday turkey and a $100 gift card to one lucky winner.
The drawing, a local tradition that brings excitement to the season, is meant to lift spirits and bring a touch of joy to area households.
Gwen Wislon, the Executive Director of HFMC said she is blown away by Super C’s generosity in response to the community’s needs.
“Jim is such a blessing to the entire community,” Wilson said.“Anytimesomebody in the community has a need, Jim goes above and beyond to help in any capacity he can. He is just so nice and so giving.”
A Super C representative said that every little bit helps.
“Every dollar that stays local makes a difference,” said a store spokesperson. “We’re proud to be part of this community and proud to stand with organizations like Hope for Marshall County in their mission to help our neighbors. When the community supports each other, everyone benefits.”
Super C’s donation is part of its broader Fight Hunger program, an ongoing initiative where a portion of proceeds from select grocery sales is directed toward local food banks and assistance programs. Since its launch, the program has become a cornerstone of the store’s community outreach, providing much-needed funds for nonprofits that serve the most vulnerable residents.
Wilson also noted that Super C is taking donations all through November to help with people in need over the holiday season. A customer can donate any amount, or they can round up their bill at the register and the extra will be donated.
According to representatives at Hope for Marshall County, the partnership with Super C has made a significant impact, especially asdemandforfoodassistance continues to rise. Inflation, job insecurity and higher living costs have left more families struggling to make ends meet.
“Super C’s support means the world to us,” said a pantry volunteer. “With donations like this, we’re able to keep our shelves stocked and our doors open to anyone who needs a helping hand.”
For Super C, the goal is simple: keep giving, keep helping, and keep hope alive. As Thanksgiving and Christmas draw near, their ongoing efforts serve as a powerful reminder that community strength grows from shared compassion and local action.
Whether it’s through a donated turkey, a gift card or a few extra dollars at checkout, every contribution adds up to something bigger, a community united by kindness and the belief that no one should go hungry during the holidays.
