Madill notched a pair of slow pitch victories while Kingston picked up one in action last week as each continued the drive for the playoffs in which assignments have been set.
The Lady Wildcats will be on the road at Bethel for district tournament play along with Byng. Kingston will join Hugo in visiting Broken Bow for the district event that is only one week away.
In last week’s play, Madill doubled up Sulphur, 16-8, and edged Marietta, 5-2, before a 15-7 loss to powerful Calera.
Against Sulphur, the Lady Wildcats spotted the visitors a 4-0 lead before they plated seven straight runs. The first of those came in the second frame, cashing in a pair of Lady Bulldog errors, but the big outburst was a six-run third inning eruption.
Brooklyn Washington notched an RBI single ahead of hits by Laila Pickens and Ireland Groeber, who drove in a pair to tie the contest. Emily Arnold’s two-run single put Madill ahead.
Sulphur surged back in front with four tallies in the sixth stanza but a nine-run flurry by the Lady Wildcats retook the lead and also ended it on the run rule.
A couple Lady Bulldog errors narrowed the gap before a big two-out push. Laci Douglas knocked in two with a single and Ana Pineda drove in another on a hit. A Washington RBI single made it a 12-8 Madill lead and Jade Soto then provided the game clincher on a grand slam to leftfield.
Douglas led the offensive charge with three hits with Washington adding a pair. Soto, Pickens, Joshlynn Clayburn, Groeber, Arnold and Pineda all had one hit.
The Lady Wildcats built a 4-0 lead in the opening frame against Marietta and never looked back en route to the win. Washington, Clayburn and Groeber provided singles in the early flurry with Chloe Miller also doubling home a pair of runs.
Washington spurred the seven-hit Madill attack with two singles. Soto, Clayburn, Groeber, Miller and Douglas added one hit apiece.
Although they posted nine hits against Calera, the Lady Wildcats did not have the firepower to keep up as they could not erase a 13-2 third inning deficit.
Dahlia Marris, Washington and Soto all contributed two hits as Marris and Soto both homered and drove in three runs.
Pickens, Clayburn and Douglas chipped in a hit each.
Kingston recorded a 12-3 victory over Dickson and also fell to Davis, 10-2.
The Lady Redskins got off to a hot start in the Dickson triumph, building an 8-0 lead in the third inning and finished it on the run rule with three tallies in the sixth.
Destry Davis smacked a home run and drove in three. Gracie Bridgman and Audrey Hughes each tallied three hits while Alyssa Langford and Bridgman chipped in two apiece. Khloe Hall and Ayli Minor also posted hits.
Kingston was only outhit 11-9 in the Davis loss, but runs were hard to come by as the lone Lady Redskin extra base hits were a Destry Davis solo home run and Bridgman double.
Hall, Bridgman and Emma Bridgeman finished with two hits each and Davis, Bailey Reagan and Rylee Goree all added one.
