Pierce’s parents were business owners and entrepreneurs. She comes from a large family of six children with four brothers and one sister. She said her family supported her dreams of attending college and becoming a youth counselor.
After her high school graduation in 1989, she began her college education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. “I enjoyed counseling because I got to work closely with the students,” said Pierce.
After many years as school counselor, Pierce decided to attend Southeastern again earning her Masters of Education in Administration in 2016. That was the same year she became the principal of the Middle School.
“I enjoy being the principal because I get to help teachers, parents and students,” said Pierce. “I enjoy watching teachers and students have success.”
Pierce said she has always enjoyed helping the kids in middle school because those are tough years for them.
“I want to help them understand that mistakes are made and it doesn’t determine their success and that they can do great things,” she added.
Pierce also spent several years as the District Test Coordinator since becoming the principal. With this position, she assists the school and children in their gradual steps through education.
Pierce is engaged to soon to be husband Jason Bishop. Bishop is a cattle rancher and father. Together, they will have a beautifully blended family with four children and four grandchildren. Pierce noted that she loves her family and school and her animals.
“I love spending time with our family and being involved in school activities,” Pierce said. “We have 6 dwarf goats just for pets that I absolutely love spending time with also.”
In her spare time, Pierce said she enjoys soaking up the sun and the fresh ocean breeze at the beach or relaxing poolside at her home.
