Cruisin' corvette

A Grayson County man is in jail and facing charges after a high-speed chase. On September 28, the Marshal County Sheriff's Office received acallfromtheGrayson County Sheriff's Office at approximately 3:00 a.m. According to the GCSO, Joshua Werner was a suspect in an Assault and Battery with a DeadlyWeaponcaseandwas possibly headed to Marshall County.

After receiving the call, the MCSO was on the lookout for a corvette with the possible suspect driving. As luck would have it, deputies located the vehicle traveling north on HWY 377. As the deputy turned around to try to initiate a traffic stop, Werner picked up speed and the chase was on. Werner reached speeds of over 120 miles per hour, putting himself andeveryonearoundhim in danger.

The pursuit continued up HWY 377, went through the blinking lights at Cross Roads. He then turned left on 32 and headed west, then turned right on 99C. The MCSO deputies lost sight of the corvette and Werner. However, Werner passed a Madill Officer and the chase was on, once again.

Once the Madill officer activated his lights, Werner 'pulled over and acted like nothing happened.'

MCSO deputies arrived on scene and quickly apprehended Werner. Werner was transported to the Marshall County Jail and is facing charges in Marshall County for Eluding and Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device. Grayson County law officials interviewed Werner and he will be facing charges there, as well.

An online search shows that Werner, a 43-year-old male from Sherman, Texas has priors for Obtaining Signature Under False Pretenses, DUI, Trespassing, Speeding and Possession of CDS.
