The rodeo was an exciting weekend event for the entire family. Friday and Saturday night had a great turnout. The parking lot and bleachers were full of fans as the cowboysandcowgirlsshowed off their hard work and love for rodeo life. The livestock brought their bucking best show for all the fans to see.
The Star-Spangled Stampede marched proudly through the arena dressed to impress in red, white and blue. Glittering stars painted their skin and the beautiful ladies atop were all decked out with flags flying as they showed the country and the event sponsors appreciation.
The fire department had a huge American Flag flying high above the arena as the weekend event carried out. The fire department and cheerleaders teamed up in the concession stand for this busy weekend event. The food is on the top 10 list for concession stand food, the rodeoannouncerchalkedthat accolade up to the quality of the food. The smell of country western filled the air as dirt was kicked up and concessions prepared.
The event also hosted a mechanicalbull,cottoncandy stand, souvenir vendors and a sweet tea truck with a consistent line of thirsty fans to show just how down-home Madill is.
Firstplace2024Round-Up Rodeo Queen went to nineyear-old Brinlynn Dodd. She represented being a cowgirl and beauty queen.
She was all decked out in denim and diamonds to accompany her gold sash and leather boots. She had a huge smile as she took photos with fans and proudly represented thewesternheritagebybeing involved in the Round-Up Club. Dodd said that being rodeo queen is more than just the pretty sash.
“I want encourage other girls of all ages to be involved in the Round-Up Club and run for queen in years to come,” she said. “It’s helpful with public speaking and just a lot of fun.”
She said her favorite horses to ride are named J-Lo and Repo. She sold tickets for the chance to win a 16’ flatbed bumper pull trailer to support this event. The club had a table set up for fans to purchase tickets before the drawing for a chance to win.
Towards the end of the rodeo on Saturday night, the queen was driven center stage in the arena to draw the winning ticket. Brenda Wood was the lucky lady whose ticket was drawn for that trailer.
