Boeing awards $50,000

Boeing awarded a $50,000 grant to Mental Health Association Oklahoma’s Veterans Outreach Services program which operates out of Lottie House Peer-Run Drop-In Center.

Veterans Services focuses on veteran-specific outreach with the purpose of increasing the health and well-being, self-sufficiency and recovery success for veterans in our community. Additionally, through evidence-based strategies, the program works to decrease social anxiety and end homelessness in the veteran population. The program also facilitates a mentorship component that trains veterans with lived experience to become a Veteran Peer Recovery Support Specialist.

“This critically important work would not be possible without the continued generosity and support of Boeing,” said Terri White, Chief Executive Officer at Mental Health Association Oklahoma.

Since 2018, Boeing has invested $255,000 into Lottie’s House. This generous investment enables Mental Health Association Oklahoma to grow its Veterans Services Program, which has made significant progress in connecting veterans facing hardships to critical services such as housing, mental and physical health care and benefits.

“Our goal is to ensure that any veteran who is struggling can not only access what they need, but feel a sense of belonging and that they have people who are eager to help. This program is one of many at MHAOK that does that,” said Lindsay Yisreal, Lottie House Program Director.

Yisrael said that the Veterans Services program has nearly tripled in participation in 2023, and the mentorship component is full. “Our participants have found a place that celebrates them while we walk alongside them in their journeys to healing and recovery. They are part of a family here,” Yisrael added.

“Boeing has a strong and storied history of supporting our local veterans in the greater Oklahoma City region during and after their time of service,” said Boeing’s Oklahoma City site executive and Air Force veteran, Ryan Britton. “We are proud to partner with Mental Health Association Oklahoma’s Veterans Outreach Services and Lottie House in their mission to provide resources and opportunities to veterans and military spouses in our communities.”
