Julie (Carol) Parker Holloway, 56, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 6, 2023, after a long illness. She was surrounded by loved ones at her home in Kingston, Okla.
Julie was born on November 29, 1966, in Fort Worth, Texas. She grew up in Burleson, Texas, where she was a member of the high school speech and debate team, competing in numerous tournaments in debate, oratory, and extemporaneous speaking.
Julie attended college at Texas A&M University, and later at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in finance and accounting. She began her professional life in accounting, but quickly realized that sitting behind a desk was not for her. Extroverted and vivacious, she was far happier talking to people than creating spreadsheets. She found her calling when she switched to sales, enjoying and excelling at selling luxury cars and custom home upgrades. She became the manager of a regional home design center, a role she greatly enjoyed.
After moving to Oklahoma, Julie met and (in 2013) married Bob Holloway, her devoted and beloved husband for the rest of her life. While Julie never had children of her own, she took great joy and pride in helping to raise her stepdaughter from a prior marriage, Hailey Willis, whom Julie loved with all her heart.
Julie was a creative person and enjoyed many hobbies, including painting, needlework, and arts and crafts of all kinds. She loved traveling, especially the trips that she and Bob took to Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Yosemite National Park, and Monterey Bay. Julie also served as a volunteer CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate), advocating for children in the child abuse and neglect legal system.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, James Ray Parker, Jr., in 1997.
She leaves behind many beloved family members and friends, including her husband, Bob Holloway; mother, Wanda Parker Henderson; sister, Diane Parker; brother-in-law, John Howe; nephews, Eric and Jake Parker-Howe; step-son, Derrick Holloway and two stepgrandchildren;, Rylee and Logan Holloway.
