Kemp
Roy Eugene Kemp, 82, of Madill, Okla. passed away on August 25, 2023, at his daughter’s home in Madill. He was born February 7, 1941, in Bigsby, Ill. to the late Vernon John Kemp and Norma Virginia Ballard Kemp.
Roy was raised in Carthage, Ill. and in 1981, moved to Wellington, Texas. He married Patricia “Pat” Mae Lemley on June 21, 1962, in Hamilton, Illi. and she preceded him in death on February 2, 2023.
In 1993, Roy moved to Madill where he worked in fabrication at CM Trailers in Madill. Roy was affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Madill, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; wife; baby daughter; brothers, Scott, Buddy, Ronnie and Virgil and one sister, Carol Bowen.
Roy is survived by his children, Brian Kemp and wife Rebecca of Childress, Texas, Darrell Kemp and wife Shannon of Madill, Okla., Rhonda Butler and husband Andy of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Krista Lynn Hoener and husband Darin, Bryan Edward Kemp and wife Rachael, Kollin Kemp and wife Carle, Greg Butler and wife Courtney, Andrea Wallace and husband Nick, Mark Butler and wife Alyssa, Kyle Butler, Shambrie Kemp and Juaquin, RaShae Grewing and husband Kevin, Kassy Kemp and fiancé Justin, Desirae Kemp and Dylan, Kaden Kemp, Dalton Yeats, Becky Ernest and husband Mark, Carlos Sanchez and wife Gabby, Refugio Sanchez; great grandchildren, Amber, Tucker, Allie and Cody Hoener, Brantley, Bree and Boone Kemp, Brylnn, Presley and Stetson Kemp, Dannie, Bransen and Bradie Butler, Andie, Hallie, Charlotte and Meredith Wallace, T. J. Farris, Amara, Brikayla, and Braylynn Ramirez, Zander and Hadleigh Grewing, Kamree, Jana and Westin Ernest; brother, Stanley Kemp of Dupo, Ill.; sisters, Rosie Stark of Dupo, Ill., and Judy Smith and husband David of Dupo, Ill.
Visitation was held Monday, August 28, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
Funeral service was Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. at 10:00 a.m. Randy Kendrix officiated the service. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
