Three people were arrested after deputies were called to a business in the western part of Marshall County on May 23. Deputies received an alarm call at approximately 4:00 a.m. and proceeded to head toward the business.
The deputies’ response was quick enough to witness a silver Ford vehicle leaving the business. Deputies then attempted to intercept the vehicle and initiate a traffic stop. Unfortunately, the suspects, later found to be Joshua Drain, Stephanie Merchant and Silas Pittman, began speeding away and the deputies pursued the trio.
While deputies were pursuing the vehicle, the suspects were allegedly throwing stolen items from the vehicle. The trio then turned onto Fobb Road and turned into a field. The vehicle then became incapacitated from getting stuck in mud.
Drain attempted to flee from the vehicle on foot, but was apprehended rather quickly. Merchant and Pittman were both removed from the incapacitated vehicle and placed under arrest.
