According to the TFD liaison there were 59 fires that required assistance last month.
Please call the Marshall County Sheriff’s office at 580795-2221 prior to starting a controlled burn. Always have a water hose available. Don’t burn on windy days and keep your cell phone close in case the fire gets out of control.
The Texoma Fire District Board of Directors meets the first Thursday of the month at the Training/Community Center at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
The Texoma Fire District Auxiliary met on January 16, 2023 with 16 members in attendance reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. It was reported the Texoma State Park had a controlled burn last week.
The door prize was won by Vangie Sutton. Shelley Blakely’s birthday was celebrated with a gift and a song.

The Exercise/Stretching classes are on Monday and Wednesdayat10:00a.m.and the Cards/Games are on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. Auxiliary members are welcome to join in on the fun. Bring finger foods to share and have a fun time.
For any residents interested in renting the Texoma Community Building, contact Gayla Freeman at 580565-4043 and leave a message. She will return the call as soon as possible. The cost is $75 per day. The potential renter must be a member of the Texoma Fire District to rent the building.
The Lighthouse Methodist Church located at 4923Alberta Creek Road in Kingston moved their delicious Wednesday evening meal to the first Wednesday of the new year. It is from 5:00 p.m to 6:30 p.m. They also have Lighthouse Kids, a program for grade school children consisting of Bible stories, crafts and games. It is held each Wednesday from 4:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. prior to the evening meal.
