TheSwonBrothersplayed their 7th annual Thanksgiving show at The Doghouse at Ole Red Tishomingo on November 30. The venue was forced to schedule an earlier matinee show due to the demand of the first one selling out quickly.
Country musician and Ole RedownerBlakeSheltonsurprised the crowd when he did an impromptu appearance and thanked the crowd for attending. The surprise for both shows was when Zuma, Gwen Stefani’s middle son, took to the stage. He had his debut appearance at Ole Red a few months earlier.
Zuma plugged in his guitar and treated the crowd to a couple of songs giving the impression that he was comfortable with the Ole Red enthusiast. He wrapped up his showtime and passed the stage and microphone to the Swon Brothers, a country music duo from Muskogee, Okla.
Brothers,ZachandColton, are artists who have established a dedicated and loyal fan base but are also accomplished songwriters. The Swon Brothers have a history of entertaining audiences for years before making their television debut. They were honored with the “Rising Star” award given by the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and inducted into the “Rhythm and Routes Oklahoma Music Trail.”
The brothers achieved national recognition in 2013 when they finished third on the 4th season of “The Voice” on Shelton’s team. Subsequently, they released their major label album debut The Swon Brothers the following year.
The duo has also produced Shelton’s album Body Language and his Blake SheltonChristmas2015.The brothers and Shelton have become friends and have a standing Thanksgiving deer hunt together for the last seven years.
The Brothers told the crowd that Shelton invited them to hunt in Oklahoma if they would play music for a crowd at Ole Red. This has become their Thanksgiving tradition.
The Swon Brothers will host their Friends and Beyond music festival in Muskogee, Okla. on December 21. They have made this their very own tradition.
