Madill Volunteer firefighter Steven Ray retired on November 30. Ray was with the MFD for over 22 years.

MFD took to social media to wish Ray well, and talk about the impact Ray had on other firefighters.

'Not many get the honor of working alongside someone you look up to,' the post stated. 'There have been many memories and cherished times throughout the last22years,andwewouldn't have it any other way.'

Ray gave his appreciation for the time that he and his father both served at the MFD.

“After 22 years of service, over 45 years of service between my father “Little Willie”andmyself,November 30th was my last day as a volunteer fire fighter for the City of Madill/Madill Fire Department,' Ray said..'I am proud to say that I served with some outstanding men both still active and retired now, and will cherish the memories we’ve shared forever. To the citizens that we have met when times probably wasn’t the best for you, it’s been a pleasure to lend a helping hand. God Bless. 845 out.”
