Literacy Day in the Park will be held from 10 am to 1 pm Saturday August 8th at the circle drive in front of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Ardmore.

With guidance from health professionals and your input, the organizing committee has opted to do a curbside, drive up event. Each student will receive a backpack, school supplies and other information and resources pre -sorted into bags.

Families will be asked to remain in their vehicles. We will have a station safely out of the line of traffic for those who may walk to the event as well.

For those donating supplies outside our organization’s bulk order arrrangement and for those wishing to include brochures or program information, please make sure all materials are delivered to St. Philip's no later than noon on August 6th. Please contact Elizabeth Gaylor, Ari James or Charlotte Miller to make other arrangements if needed.

For other inquiries or to register as a sponsor for the event, please contact call or text 580-768-2942 oremail ari@ardmoreliteracyleadership.com.

Leadership Resources

I first met David Rosen, who introduced me to the Open Door Collective, at the Proliteracy Conference in San Diego. Since then, I have joined that organization and their network of leadership and educators around the nation. If you would like to discuss ODC, please reach out to me, or visit the membership link below. —Ari

Open Door Collective (ODC) members represent participants across many cultures, fields and professions who want to work together to reduce poverty and create a more just and open society for all. ODC's mission is to help adult basic skills advocates make common cause with advocates for other issues such as community health, workforce development and employment, criminal justice reform, digital inclusion, older adult services, libraries, and others in order to build an intersectional approach to reducing poverty.

ODC membership is free and open to all individuals. Please join us in this effort to build awareness and promote collaboration in advocacy. Together we can reduce poverty for all.
