Residents from the Brookside Nursing Home attended the Madill football game on September 1. Residents were able to attend games in the past, but COVID stopped everything.
Summer Bryant said she worked with the school and employees from the nursing home to get it kicked off again. The residents will receive free admission and food for any future home games.
Lanette Callison donated the t-shirts and an anonymous donor paid for their food and drinks for last week’s game and any future game.
Madill Public Schools pays an employee to bus the residents back and forth each game so more residents can attend. It keeps them from being forced to make multiple trips in the nursing home van.
Bryant said that the event is worth it because the residents have such a great time.
“They love it,” she said.
