Blake Nation, a tribute banddedicatedtothecountry music icon Blake Shelton, threw a five-year streak of birthday celebrations for the idol at The Doghouse at Ole Red’s in Shelton’s hometown of Tishomingo. The bash was filled with enthusiastic fans singing along to the band’s performances of Blake Shelton’s hit songs.
Blake Nation was the DFW 2023 Country Music Choice Award winner, and played to a sold-out crowd. Many fans traveled far and wide to attend the show, with some making the long journey from states such as Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia.
Blake Nation has a lineup of musicians, including founder and vocalist David NewtonandhiswifeKymber, Mark Louis (bass), David Powell (lead guitar), Phillip Walker (keyboard), Andy Pruyn (drummer) and Dave ‘Okie Dave’ Alexander (pedal steel).
The band said their manager, Kacie Baxely, has been instrumental in guiding their career and helping promote their widespread popularity. The band is gearing up for an exciting trip to Canada on July 13, 2024, for a performance at a race car festival. Included in the lineup with them will be The Travelers, a tribute to Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan Experience, The Luke Combs Experience and UP, a homage to Shania Twain.
The Dog House at Ole Red is not just a place for entertainment, it is also a placemanyartistssaymakes them feel right at home. This isexactlyhowthemembersof Blake Nation said they feel.
“It’s my favorite place to play,” Newton said.
Newton said they have crossed paths with Blake Shelton in the past, but still hope he might drop in on a show when they are in town. That is more than likely something Shelton fans would want as well.
Tanner Young, an artist who regularly performs at Old Red, was the opening act. He is always a popular choice for shows.
