Sarah Steinmetz was the recipient of Texoma’s Golden Apple of the Month.
Steinmetz is a custodian who goes above and beyond to ensure that the school environment is not only clean but also nurturing. She tackles her responsibilities with unwavering dedication, even stepping in to cover for absent janitors while maintaining her own workload. Her commitment to cleanliness extends beyond the classrooms as she collects and cares for the forgotten belongings left on the playgrounds by washing and returning them to the children with thoughtfulness and care.
However, Steinmetz's impact goes further than maintaining cleanliness; she extends a helping hand to teachers by assembling furniture, climbing ladders for repairs, and addressing any challenges that may arise. Her understanding nature allows her to connect with the students on a deeper level. She knows them by name, encourages them in the halls, and offers support to those facing difficulties.
Despiteherbusyschedule, Steinmetz actively contributes to her community by assisting her son with Kingston Little League Baseball. In the evenings, she helps with concessions and offers support after her long hours at school, embodying a selfless spirit that goes above and beyond without expecting anything in return. Steinmetz is not just a custodian; she is a beacon of kindness, resilience, and generosity.
