MCWC to hold special meeting

The Marshall County Water Corporation will be holding a special meeting on January 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at 400 E. Main in Madill. This meeting is to vote on a proposal set forth by the Board of Directors of the Water Corporation to convert and organize the corporation asanOklahomaRuralWater District.

If the vote for the proposal is passed, it shall result in a voluntary dissolution of the corporation and shall constitute consent of the board of directors and memberships of the corporation to dissolve and continue as a Rural Water District. Converting to a water district will allow for qualification of low interest loans and grants to use for improvements to the water system.

This will not affect the dayto day operations and will still operate under the same board of directors. Notice letters with a proxy vote ballot were sent out to all members.

If it passes through the citizen’s vote, it must receive an affirmative vote of the County Commissioners to organize as a Rural Water District. Upon an affirmative vote of the board of the County Commissioners, the bylaws of the water corporation shall constitute the bylaws of the Water District. For any citizens who may have questions call the Marshall County Water Corporation at (580)795-3368.
