A local man, Rocky Robinson, Jr. was jailed after allegedly harassing his ex-girlfriend and shooting at people. It all began on March 3, 2022, when Kingston Police Officer Shelby Boyd was dispatched to a residence on Northwest Second Street in reference to a disturbance.
While in route to the residence, dispatch received another call about shots fired at the residence. Hearing this new information, Boyd increased his speed and raced to the house. He also informed Kingston Police Officer Kasey Cox.
The suspect left the residence before Boyd could arrive on scene, but the caller said he was probably heading to his own residence in Enos. Multiple Marshall County units began actively searching for Robinson’s vehicle, which was a silver sedan.
While the county units searched for Robinson, Boyd made contact with the reporting party. Boyd first accessed the victims to make sure nobody was hurt, and they were not.
The victims informed Boyd that the female victim had recently broken up with Robinson and was currently attempting to obtain a protective order against Robinson due to his recent actions. She alleged that Robinson was harassing and chasing her. She also alleged that he had recently showed up at her place of employment and chased and harassed her.
Boyd then spoke to the male family member of the victim who said that he arrived at the residence and found Robinson in the female victim’s driveway. He then approached Robinson and told him he needed to leave multiple times.
Robinson then laughed at the male family member. After the family member hit Robinson’s windshield and once again ordered Robinson to leave.
Apparently, Robinson wanted to make a point, so he went to his vehicle and allegedly brandished a firearm. The male family member turned and ran for his life, while Robinson allegedly shot at the fleeing family member.
Approximately two and a half hours after the search began for Robinson, officers caught up with him. Kingston Police Chief Chris Watson and a Marshall County Deputy caught Robinson at the Catfish Bay gas station.
Robinson, a 20-year-old male from Kingston, was detained and transported to the Marshall County Jail for Shooting with the Intent to Kill, Domestic Abuse/Assault and Battery and Disorderly Conduct.
