The Madill Rose Garden Club elected new officers for the 2023-25 term of leadership. Jayson Pruitt was elected as the first Gentleman Chairman of Madill Garden Club.
Thoseelectedtoservewith Mr. Pruitt were Vice-Chairwoman Susan Patton and Secretary-Treasurer Becky Ninemire. Congratuations to the new slate of officers.
Judy Parkey, Pruitt, and Jo Wood were asked to form a committee to design a Facebook page for Madill Rose Garden Club.
Plans were made for the yearly outing on May 11. The group decied to go to Hugo to visit the Circus Cementery which is located within the confines of Mount Olivet Cementery. Famous people buried in Mount Olivet cementery include “Buster Brown” Ed Ansley, Professional Rodeo Cowboys L. Hammock, Todd Watley, Freckles Brown, and Lane Frost.
Max Bryan “Tuck” Robinson, the original Marlboro man is buried at Mount Olivet. A tour of the Hugo Train Museum with be explored after lunch at the Circus Diner. Ladies are to meet in the west parking lot of the Madill Methodist Church at 8:30 a.m. on May 11.
Mary Jane Lowery gave a devotional using Deuteronomy 25:29, Psalms 32:8 andExodus20:12.Shetalked about turning everything over to God. Let God be the leader in life. God says not to worry about the future, that he is in control.
Linda Kaye Green announced that Wood and Parkey will serve as South Central Garden Clubs District President and Vice President. A short report from Ninemire stated that the South Central District Spring Convention had been a great success.
She stated that the district officers were really pleased with the money raised for the Oklaoma State Garden Club meeting in Oklahoma City.
August meeting is the annual planning session which will be held on August 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship HalloftheMethodistChurch.
Green served a selection of sandwiches, cupcakes, chips, and drinks to Nancy Kerr, Lowery, Ninemire, Parkey, Patton, Pruitt, Sue Shilling and Wood.
