The Madill Rose Garden Club held their monthly meeting at September 2 at the FUMC Fellowship Hall at 10:00 a.m. with nine members and one guest in attendance.
Club members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and The Gardener’s Aim in unison. Roll call was “Favorite Fall Flower.” Mary Jane Lowery presented a devotion on Stress Relief in our lives with references to I Peter and Job. Dealing with stress needs rest and depending on God’s comfort and love in our lives.
Linda Alexander’s family had sent a Thank You to the club for the memorial book presented to the Madill City Library in her memory. The book is entitled “ Smithsonian Encyclopedia of Garden Plants for Every Location” which features 1,000 plants and 2,000 recommendations for over 30 sites from dry ground to a hedge or fence, to cracks in sidewalks orwalls, with explanations of site and soil, with a range of plant partners and and planting schemes.
Jo Wood was introduced as a guest at the meeting. Nancy Kerr has joined the club as a new member. Wood decided to join so we are excited to have two new members. We are excited to have you have members.
The South Central Fall Board Meeting will be held on October 14 at 10:00 a.m. in Marlow. District officers will be installed and a silent auction will be held. If you are interested in attending, please contact Linda Green.

Green served delicious refreshments of sandwiches,watermelon, and cookies to Willa Dean Caldwell, Doris Farris, Kaye Jay, Nancy Kerr, Mary Jane Lowery, Becky Ninemire, Judy Parkey, Susan Patton, and Jo Wood.
