The Madill Alumni Association, celebrating its 90th birthday this year, holds a banquet annually to bring together former students of Madill High School. Established in 1934, the association has been organizing this event every year, except during World War II when many men were away at war.

The tickets for the 2024 banquet are now on sale, priced at $15 each. Event planners encourage those who plan to attend but haven’t bought the ticket yet to do so online with the following link https://www. facebook.com/share/Tca8bV jpRDXiLEi2/?mibextid=WC 7FNe .

The banquet will feature a catered meal, pasta bar including a chef sauté station, provided by Justin Germany. One notable tradition of the event is that graduating seniors attend the banquet free of charge.

This gesture reflects the association's commitment to supporting and connecting with the younger generation. Moreover, theassociationhas made efforts throughout the year to be more involved with the seniors and to provide guidance and assistance with scholarships, resumes, college applications, and more.

They also brought back the tradition of Homecoming floats, which had been absent sincethepre-COVIDera,and organized a pizza party for seniors to address any questions or concerns they may have had.

The initiation process, which involves receiving a paddle and decorating it with the signatures of previous alumni, will be led by CourtneyCombsofHoboJoes and Whiskey Creek Processing. This process will start the week of graduation, and participants are required to attend the banquet meeting to complete it. The Madill Alumni Foundation (technically a separate entity) will be announcing the recipients of several scholarships at the banquet.

Additionally, a fundraising event called 'You've Been Flushed' has been organized, led by Jayson Pruitt of P2 Minerals. This event involves a yellow toilet being placed at various locations in the community, and individuals must pay to have it removed or placed at another business or residence.

The banquet itself will take place on Saturday, May 18. The doors will open at 5 p.m. but actually starts at 6:30 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to come early. The event will include refreshments, a free photo booth, a catered meal, and a silent auction.

In addition, tours of the new Event Center and possibly the school will be available starting at 10 a.m.

The Madill Alumni Association has also encouraged others to attend their classspecific events throughout theday, allowingalumnifrom different graduating years to reconnect and reminisce.

The Madill Alumni Association strives to rebuild and revitalize the association, aiming to recreate the fun, excitement, and eventfulness it once had. The association's president, Laurie Harris, is dedicated to this mission and hopes to make the alumni experience something to look forward to for graduating seniors.
