Longtime Brookside employee retires

LongtimeBrooksideNursing Home employee, Alice Parker, retired from the nursing home. Parker was hired in 2006. Her job consisted of cleaning all common areas and resident’s rooms by sweeping, mopping, dusting, rearranging furniture, and laundry.

Parker said that one of her favorite things about the job was visiting with the residents and getting to know them.

“They were my friends, always smiling,” she said.

Parker was the wife of the late Redrick Parker and a mother of four children. She has lived in the same house since April of 1978. She said she is a homebody and is excited about retirement.

Employees at the Brookside Nursing Home said they are very appreciative of all the hard work, dedication, andyearsParkerhasputinto their facility. They also said they would like to congratulate her on her retirement and send her best wishes as she embarks on this new journey.
