KPMC to host inaugural Patriotic Parade

The Kingston Place Making Committees is busy planning upcoming events. The inaugural Patriotic Parade will be held on July 1 in downtown Kingston. KPMC invites everyone to come out and be a spectator or participate.

The festivities begin at 10 a.m. Spectators are encouraged to fill Main Street to watch the parade. Spectators can expect to see bicycles, golf carts and side by sides decorated to celebrate Independence Day.Therewillbea contest for the most patriotic by category.

The bicycle category contest winners will receive $25 for first place, $15 for second place and $10 for third place. Youngsters should dust off their bicycles and decorate to participate.

The golf cart and side by side contest winners will receive $75 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place. This event will be a great time for all ages.

For anybody passing through town, be sure to take the time to see businesses that are participating in the Storefront Beautification contest. Local businesses within the town limits have gone to great lengths to show their pride in being the Best Patriotic Decorated storefront.

Prizes for the contestants are a $100 gift certificate for 1st place and a $50 gift certifi cate for both second and third place. The awards for the contestants will be given out at noon on Saturday.

The KPMC has been putting forth spectacular efforts towards the beautification of Kingston. Keep a look out for more upcoming events.
