The new school year is just around the corner, and Kingston students will have the ability to take a different type of class.

The new class being introduced is a media class. It will be for high school students that choose to enroll in it. The media class will look to benefit the pupils in different types of media.

Jimmy Miller, who is the head softball coach, will be teaching the class. Miller taught media at Lone Grove High School for several years before coming to Kingston.

Since the term “media class” encompasses multiple meanings, Miller said he is leaving the interpretation for what they would like to learn from the class up to the students.

“I had students in previous years work on newscasts and work on the Facebook page for the high school, because that is what they wanted to do.” Miller stated.

Enrollment is still ongoing at Kingston at this time, so it is still unknown on how the class will be received by the students. Will they jump on the proverbial surfboard and ride the tidal wave that is media to the end of the school year?
