KHS Alumni doing different

TheKHSAhimni Association, established in 1911, is the oldest continuing alumni association in the state of Oklahoma. The association is full of traditions that have been passed down for generations. Initiation is a time for seniors to bond and make lasting memories with classmates.

This year’s graduating class has missed out on many activities including music contests, athletic events and prom. It is our goal to ensure that the 2020 class gets one last chance to get together before they go their separate ways.

However, due to the uncertainty caused by the current COVID-19 health crisis, the KHS Alumni Association initiation and banquet have been put on hold for now. We are waiting to see when graduation canbe safely scheduled and we will plan our activities around that. We are going forward with all plans with hopes that it will be possible to do so even if it is in June or July.

With that in mind, we understand that the longer it is before we can hold our initiation, the harder it will be to get everyone together. Rather than the traditionalMonday thru Saturday initiation, we are looking at a probable Wednesday thru Saturday schedule.

Parents of semors, individuals or businesses who wish to place an ad in the banquet program need to have them to Terri GorrellbyApril 28. She may be reached at 580-564-7196.

Application packets which inelude the scholarship application were mailed last week and need to be returned by May 1. Theymay also be found on the alumni webpage www. kingstonalumni. com and emailed to osuchelle@hotmail.com.

As of right now, the KHS Alumni Scholarship Poker Run is still scheduled for June 27. Registration begins at 9:00 A.M. at Kingston City Park. Vehicles will leave at 10:00. The cost is $20 for the first hand and $5 for each additional hand. The first 20 participants to register will receive a free t-shirt.
