Calling all seafood connoisseurs and foodie aficionados, it is time to get caught up at the newest Texoma regional restaurant located in Sherman Texas. The Catch, located at 3301 N. US Hwy 75, is another spin off from the fast-casual Texas based company.

The original restaurant began in Tyler, Texas and has grown to 11 stores. They are located all over the Texas and one in Oklahoma City, Okla.

This Cajun Seafood Style restaurant had my chef’s palette all worked up, and I will say I was not disappointed. Being a brand-new restaurant and with all the excitement of its opening, I expected a long lines and delays. Instead, I found the staff was on top of their duties with getting folks in the door and orders taken.

My wait in line was about 25 minutes and another 20 minutes to have food to table, that’s less than some places who have been around a while. The Catch has a very extensive menu to catch everyone’s tastebuds. From oysters on the half shell, to fried green tomatoes, and a gator po’boy sandwich, there is something on the menu for even the pickiest eater.

Our dinner started with the Admiral’s Platter – a healthy sampling of catch fish, whitefish, shrimp, fried oysters, and crawfish tails. All this with a side of hushpuppies and red beans and rice. We were pleased to find

We were pleased to find out that the restaurant offers a choice between fried and grilled on most items. That being said, the fish was grilled perfectly, the white fish was flakey and moist, the shrimp was seasoned well, and the fried oysters and crawfish tails were fried lightly and plump and juicy. The red beans and rice made me feel as if I were back on the bayou.

The next entrée on our lest was the half pound crab and half pound shrimp. While ordering, they allow you to choose the heat level of spice, I went for the hot. The crab legs were succulent, and the shrimp was spicy and easy to peel.

To finish off our meal, we went for the O.M.G. beignets. The flaky, chewy, covered in powdered sugar goodness is the Café Du Monde of North Texas. The Catch is a place worth visiting and I have all plans of returning often. The staff was extremely friendly and General Manager Jen Grissom was on top of her team front and back. Even though she was busy, she made time to stop by tables and visit with the guests, making everybody feel like family.
