Have you ever had a craving for something but someone else in the family wants something totally different? Well, I have your dinner solution. Head south to the small community suburb of Kingston to Willie’s Rattlin’ the Pans. Their full-service menu has a little something for everyone, from fried favorites to Italian pasta dishes, TexMex cuisine, and good old fashion home cooking.

The friendly staff was quick to seat us and get our order going. By the way, we had the catfish baskets, with perfectly fried filets and hushpuppies, and the Calzone. It was a large portion of cheesy goodness.

So, make your way down by the lake and check out this quaint mom and pop style café. If you want to try this at home calzone until you can make it down to Willie’s.

Calzones at home are super easy. The best part about calzones is everyone can customize their own. Gather a ton of ingredients, lay them out and let your friends and family go at it! Follow these simple instructions to nail it every time: Cheese – Mozzarella, parmesan, sharp cheddar, feta and goat cheese.

Meats – Salami, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, ham, bacon, chicken, Italian sausage, steak strips or meatballs.

Veggies – Mushrooms, bell peppers, pepperoncini, marinated artichokes, spinach and red onions.

Sauce – Use red pizza sauce or white sauce.

Dip – Each your calzone plain or dip your calzone in a little homemade marinara or ranch.

Divide pre-made pizza dough into equal portions and roll into a circle.

On one half of the dough, spread all your selected ingredients.

Fold over and tightly crimp the edges.

Cut air vents, brush with oil and sprinkle on parmesan. Bake at 475F for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
