J. Price offers safety and experience

J. Price Energy consists of two companies out of Madill, Okla. They provide Oil and Gas construction and Right-Of-Way maintenance. J.P. Consultants, which is a sister company, provides third party QAQC consultants and environmental services.

J. Price offers a staff for pipeline and facility construction professionals for new and already existing construction including maintenance projects. These types of projects consist of services such as mulching, reclamation, sandblasting, painting, mowing and reseeding.

The company has Safety Professionals and Safety Training that are designed to make sure everybody has access to the best support in the industry. They offer safety training in PEC to provide Safeland and OSHA training to their employees, as well as training for other businesses’ employees if needed.

Cody Bradshaw currently runs J. Price. He has experience from all sides of the business, the Project Manager, the Field Construction Manager, and the inspector. This helps give the company an advantage in knowing all aspects of the business. The company is dedicated and committed to hiring the right team for the job and seeing it through from the beginning to finish.

At the 2019 Marshall County Chamber Awards, Cody Bradshaw and the J. Price company was named as the Community Investment Award for Marshall County. This is given to an individual or organization that makes a significant expansion or commercial business investment in Marshall County. The recipients were selected by the people and businesses in Marshall County.

Bradshaw said the industry is a difficult one, but he would not trade anything.

“This industry is very demanding but also rewarding,” Bradshaw expressed proudly. “The challenge of the work keeps me going. The people that work for our companies is what sets us apart. We have a great team.”

Bradshaw is a Madill native. He also attended and graduated from Madill High School. It is also where he returned to raise his family. He said he is the proud husband of Kelli and father to their two boys. He said his family is fulfilling and one of his greatest successes in life.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Bradshaw moved to Alaska where he worked for Alyeska Pipeline. From there, he moved around Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico where he stayed in the Oil and Gas industry. He and a college friend had discussed how they wanted to have the option of where they wanted to live and raise their families. They knew the Oil and Gas industry was very demanding in Oklahoma and found themselves ready to put down roots.

Bradshaw credits his parents for the man he has grown into.

“The skills I obtained started at a young age,” Bradshaw said. “My parents supported me and had me in about every event and organization that was available in Madill. From playing sports, attending Church, and being involved in 4-H, FFA, and different camps. All these events at a young age are what I believe helped create the skills I needed.”

He said he feels his biggest challenge is being patient and that everything happens for a reason. “With the demand of this industry, scheduling each day comes with challenges,” he noted. “I am either in the office, in my truck all day on the road, or in the field.”

Bradshaw recalled a company that took care of their employees and modeled his actions after that company.

“That’s how I want our companies to be like.”

He said he would have gathered more experience before taking on so much.

“If I could have done anything differently, it would have to be gaining more experience before jumping in with both feet,” he said. “I would also suggest to those wanting to start their own business to start by finding a mentor that has experience in what you are wanting to do and to find people that have the same goals and interest as you.”
