Cantrell named VP

OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Josh Cantrell, R-Kingston, will serve as the vice chair of the Oklahoma House of Representatives County and Municipal Government Committee during the 59th Legislature.

House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, named Cantrell to the position.

“I want to thank Speaker McCall for choosing me to serve Oklahoma in this new role,” Cantrell said. “I look forward to serving House District 49 as the committee works together to advance county and municipal government policies across the state of Oklahoma.”

In 2022, Cantrell was elected to serve House District 49 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes Carter, Love and Marshall counties.

Before his election to the Legislature, Cantrell served as Commissioner of District 2 and County Commissioner Chairman. He sat on the board of the ACCO Legislative Committee.

He and his wife, Tanya, have two sons, Jarron and Marshall, who are involved in agriculture and are supporters of 4-H and the Jr. Livestock Association.

The First Session of the 59th Legislature begins Monday, February 6.
