Buncombe Creek: Rain is a pleasant reprieve from heat

The rain has been a nice welcome to the area these past few days. It is extremely dry with the critters venturing out further in search of a water source. The humidity certainly hasn’t gone away as leaving any windows open in your home is sure to dampen clothes and crinkle any paper products.

The Randy Taterevich Band performed another awesome concert for all to enjoy on Sunday, August 30 at the Buncombe Creek Marina. Many came to enjoy the country music and the delicious Pulled Pork Sandwiches served by Jimbo Edwards and his wife Jamey.

I hear there will be other performances in the future. A special thanks go to Tom and Karen Wooten for their generosity in bringing this entertainment to us, as well as the new concrete floor/ pavilion.

There has been a correction, the Buncombe Creek Fire Department will be having their Open House on Saturday, October 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Kingston Pharmacy will also be there to give Flu shots. Be sure to come on down.

Labor Day weekend is fast approaching, so stay safe and watch out for the “other guy” as we enjoy our time with family and friends.
