The new year is here. Hopefully, we have all stuck to our guns with all the New Year’s Resolutions. I’m sure the gyms will be

I’m sure the gyms will be pretty busy for the first few months anyway, but unfortunately so many of us don’t follow through. Make a commitment and stick with it.

As more venues open up from this pandemic, I will have more to write about. As it is, I can only mention a few activities that are still underway as we move forward with our lives.

I am hoping to get information on our annual “Burning of the Socks” event that we have enjoyed here in Buncombe Creek for the past few years during the month of March. More to follow in the weeks ahead.

The Texoma Southern Baptist Church will open their doors again this Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to noon for the “Open Arms Clothes Closet.”

The Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their monthly meeting on January 19, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Shay CC. This month will be our “white elephant” so gift wrap something from around your house and bring along with your potluck.

I want to mention that the BCVFD will be conducting a controlled burn in Jurassic Park on January 16 and 17, 2021 to help control the weeds and underbrush which have taken over much of the park due to the flooding in past years.

The park will be closed these two days. Thank you for your continued suppor.! Also, the Fire Department will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the fire station. Everyone is welcome.
