March has brought us warmer weather and a few showers. The early spring flowers are blooming around the area.

The “Burning of the Sock” event was a huge success. Jim Bob and Kathy Laird both succeeded in taking home a trophy and bragging rights to this years Chili Cook-off. Kathy won 1st place with her husband coming in 2nd. Congratulations to you both.

The silent auction and various raffles, which were donated by local residents, did very well I am told. I will have the monetary results at a later date. This fundraising event benefited various charities and groups in the area. A big thank you to the Buncombe Creek Marina for allowing this event to happen every year.
