The Madill Art Gallery & Club is a gem in this small town. After 62 years, the club is ready for its annual art show this weekend. It will run October 20 through October 22.
The Marshall County Expo Center is the host for this year’s show. Located between Madill and Kingston, 11545 US Highway 70, the annual event showcases member and nonmember artwork.
Cory Blankenship, Curator and Assistant Director of the Goddard Center in Ardmore, is this year’s judge. His job will be to assign 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons with cash prizes in several categories.
There will also be a ‘People’s Choice’ award, so make sure when you visit to vote on your favorite.
Most of the artwork being shown is for sale, yet not all artwork is up for judging. Along with fine art, the show offers an array of different mediumsataffordableprices.
We also have donated artworks from our artists for the silent auction tables. We have tables lining the perimeter offering different artworks for sale.
This year’s theme, ‘Artists in Wonderland’, has inspired hundreds of entries from many places. The theme has its own category so this should make for a really imaginative, fun show.
We have dozens of entries from art students in Madill and Kingston high schools. We are very proud this year to have been able to donate $1000 to each of the art departments.
We are excited to know Kingston art students will be joining us on a field trip to the show. We hope to see Madill students also.
Patrons of the arts sponsor the art club by guaranteeing a purchase in advance of the show. The Patrons are individuals, business owners/ managers and service providers.
These dedicated supporters are what keeps the club going and its ability to give back to the community like we did for the schools’ art departments in both towns. We are so very grateful every year when we continue to receive Patron support.
Patrons are always welcome and we are always seeking support from the community. If you are interested in being a Patron for this show, there is still time. Contact us at madillartclub@gmail.com Admission is free for this family friendly event. Mark your calendars and support the community this month and enjoy some fun and interesting art in all shapes and sizes. Bring your Christmas list too. You may find the perfect gift for that hard to buy for person.
This year, we also have J&J BBQ food truck available for lunch on Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. Come by and enjoy a great art show andgrabsomedeliciousBBQ.
