MADILL, OK – Alliance-Health Madill is pleased to have Dan Coats, as the new chief administrative officer (CAO), effective Monday, April 11, 2022.

“Dan brings many years of experience and a demonstrated track record of improving operations, growing services, building teams and creating a high level of patient satisfaction,” says Kevin Samrow, chief executive officer of AllianceHealth Durant. “Dan is a patientfirst leader that will develop his teams to accomplish quality outcomes while supporting all AllianceHealth Madill staff and physicians to continue to grow and guide the communities we serve.”

With more than 25 years in the healthcare industry, Coats has helped build cultures of excellence. He joins AllianceHealth Madill from Oklahoma Center for Orthopaedic & Multi-Specialty Surgery (OCOM) in Oklahoma City, where he was chief executive officer and responsible for 215+ employees, two surgical hospitals, three outpatient clinics and an outpatient physical therapy program. Under his leadership, OCOM achieved 99% percentile for inpatient satisfaction and a 2021 Healthgrades “Outstanding Patient Experience” award for top 15% performance on HCAHPS. Dan also has held various senior leadership positions at Mercy Hospital Ada, Holdenville Regional and McAlester Regional Health.

Dan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders from the University Oklahoma, a Master’s of Science in Human Resources from East Central University and a Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, from University of Oklahoma Health Sciences. Dan is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Active in his community, Dan serves on the Sooner Healthcare Executives Board and as a mentor with the American College of Healthcare Executives. He also served on the Pontotoc County Drug Free Coalition.

Dan will be living in Marshall County with his wife. They have two children and three grandsons. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with family.
