15th Annual Choctaw Pow Wow this weekend

DURANT, Okla. (Nov. 25, 2019) – The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma will host the 15thannual Choctaw Pow Wow on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 at the Choctaw Event Center. The event will welcome more than 20 different tribes from around the United States and Canada. Competitors will have their chance to compete for $120,000 and guests can enjoy Native American arts, crafts, food and dancing.

Six different age groups will compete in 11 dance categories ranging from Northern Traditional, Fancy Feather, Southern Buckskin and more! The Women’s Choctaw Traditional is only in its fourth year and Choctaw Nation is one of the only Pow Wows who honors our tribal women with this category.

DATE: Saturday, Dec. 7: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8: 10:30 a.m. to noon

COST: The Choctaw Pow Wow is a free event and open to the public.
