Madill facility welcomes new director, Wood, from Durant

Baptist Village Texoma News

It has been quite some time since I have written news and said hello from the folks here at the Village. We are an Independent Living Facility, and all units are currently full at this time.

This may be due to our new director, Matthew Wood. Matt comes to us from the Durant area and is a very congenial young man who is very helpful and is very eager to help each and all residents with any need they may have.

We are very blessed and thank God for sending him to us. Our residents come from all over the country and from all walks of life. This is a very interesting place to live. There are different activities here for those who wish to participate. We have a bible study class, prayer time season, a Sunday School class for those who no longer drive and wish to stay in and then we have our regular mid-week bible study on Thursday evenings with our Chaplains Brother John and Sister Ruth King. We also have a sing along on Thursday mornings with Ruth who plays piano for us.

We celebrate birthdays once a month for those residents who have birthdays during the month.Once a month, we venture out in village vans to a restaurant in the local area. Once or twice a month, you may see some of us at Braum’s in the late afternoon. We also try to plan a road trip for those who can travel. Our plans are to visit the Ardmore Theater to see “Annie Get Your Gun” in July.

Lastly, but not least, we have a very good cook. She plans a very good and healthy lunch Monday through Friday.

The public is always welcome to come visit or for a tour of the facility. We want you to not forget us out here and if you or others have special talents that God has blessed you with, we ask that you come and share those with us.

Come see us anytime. Maybe sit and play a game of dominoes. Maybe you might even want to stay.
