The Lighthouse UMC located at 4923 Alberta Creek Rd, Kingston has several community activities scheduled for the month of December. On Sunday December 12 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., there will be an open house.

There will be literature about the church and the various activities that go on throughout the week. Refreshments will be served and a special guest for the children will be there. Santa will be there for the children. Guests can bring their camera and take Christmas pictures.

On Tuesday, December 21, LUMC will host their annual Blue Christmas Service at 6:00 p.m. This Service is held for those who Christmas is not necessarily a joyful time. It is held on Winter Solstice, or the longest night of the year. Attendees are encouraged to offer prayers, light candles, and open to the sadness they are carrying.

Individuals may be experiencing tough times, such as an illness, divorce, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, an addiction, or new to the area. These things are tough, but individuals experiencing these issues can rest assured in knowing they are not alone. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served after the service.

December 24 will be the Candlelight Christmas Eve Service. Refreshments will be available at 5:00 p.m., followed by a short service to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
