Kingston blood drive

Kingston High School hosted a successful blood drive on May 2, 2022. The Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) teamed up with the Kingston’s Student Council to provide this event to the public.

Along with the gift of donating blood, the donors also received a grey t-shirt, free Whataburger coupons, and free admission to either Safari Joe’s H20, Science Museum Oklahoma, the OKC Zoo, or Frontier City. The student council also provided snacks and drinks for the donors.

Michelle McGuire, the manager for this event, said their goal was 75 donors, and they surpassed their goal.

“We signed in 83 donors and collected 65 units,” McGuire said. Approximately 195 lives were saved Today.”

McGuire said the student council worked extremely hard to bypass their goal.

“All thanks to the hard work of the Kingston Student council,” she continued. “They worked very hard to get the donors there, we are extremely grateful for their hard work and dedication in the mission of saving local lives.”
