One might ponder why an art festival in such a rural community. Art festivals are important to society.

Art festivals are a cultural highlight, in many towns, cities and countries worldwide. They are celebrations of the richness and diversity of culture and creativity. They often encompass a variety of contemporaryandtraditional art forms.

This is where the dream started for Kasey Davis. She had a mental blueprint for this festival.

She knew that this little county in Oklahoma encompassed so much talent but did not know how to bring it together. Davis is an artist herself, and she quickly realized there was something missing in this small town.

She could only imagine this type of festival in her thoughts she often shared with her mother, Pam Cox, and grandmother, Virginia Klinkerman.

Davis shared a story on how her dream came to life. One day she got in her vehicle to take a drive.

On her exploration of Marshall County, her imagination led her to thoughts of so many possibilities and opportunities that could bring people (the community) and art together. A coincidence led to a phone call from LaJeanne Reid to Davis that some might call a Divine message.”

It was the start of something magical and enchanting. Davis knew there are so many creative and artistic people in the community and southern Oklahoma that there had to be a festival. Davis had a deep feeling there needed to be a festival or gathering because it would create so many connections, relationships, and inspiration within the community of all ages.

The Firefly Festival was born from a creative mind, and, in turn, many have re-ignited their creativity with their crafts and talents. The Firefly Art Festival has given such new energy and opportunities to local artists to share their gifts.

This festival truly brings new vibes and spirits that one can feel upon arrival and departure of the Firefly Art Festival. This has been a “personal journey” for Davis.

Putting this together and the anticipation of the outcome has been often trying. Her faith and talents have paved the way for all this to be possible. So, Davis has painted the castle for you all tocomeexperienceherdream in person.
