The Choctaw Nation has opened a new Career Development program office on the Oklahoma City campus of Oklahoma State University. This week, Choctaw Nation and OSU officials announced the program that will provide career guidance and job skills development. These opportunities can lead to career advancement, industry-recognized certifications and licenses, and increased earning power to the approximately 12,000 Choctaw tribal members living in the metro area.
Chief Gary Batton said, “We are excited to offer our tribal members an opportunity to pursue a career in a vocational trade. It has helped those who have completed their training increase their annual income by more than $17,000 per year. This is a way of showing our commitment to faith, family, and culture.”
The Oklahoma City office is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on the first floor of the OSU-OKC Student Center, 900 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City.
