I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. There is so much to do during this time of year and I hope you all get through it without much fuss. This is a time for family and friends to come together, as well as a kind word or deed for the stranger in passing. This spirit should follow us all our days to come.

An important message to everyone who attends bingo at the Buncombe Creek CC. Bingo will be put on hold for now until a new building is found. I know it is an inconvenience, but I am sure an end will be in sight soon. I will have more information as it is released to me.

Be sure to come by the Shay Community Center on Thursday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. for their annual Christmas party. They are asking everyone to bring finger food/desserts and a $10.00 gift item for the Dirty Santa. They will also be drawing for the new owner of the quilt they have been selling raffle tickets for.

A few days later, the Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their annual Christmas Party at the Shay Community Center as well on Tuesday, December 17 at 11:30 a.m. Be sure to bring finger food, a $10.00 wrapped gift and your Christmas Cheer. The Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their monthly meeting on this day as well beginning at 7:00 p.m.

I want to mention that the members of Perry Park had a nice gathering on December 7 at their local Community Center to thank various vendors and friends for services throughout the year. It was hosted by Mike & Dan Turner with help from Lisa Crawford, Linda Turner and a few others to make this possible. A special thank you to Jimbo & Jamey Edwards for the awesome meal. It was a Rave I’ve been told. Be safe and have a good week.
