Where does the time go?  We’re heading into the middle of September already! So far, beautiful weather is still upon us, even though a bit warm.

A friend of mine’s grandson got bit by a Rattle Snake last week and is still recovering. They will be out and about more with the cooler temperatures ahead, so please be aware.

The Buncombe Babe’s Red Hat group of ladies met and enjoyed lunch at the Anchor Inn last Friday, September 6. Their Special of Taco Salad was delicious! Our next lunch date will be at Love Joy’s in Whitesboro on Friday, October 4.

Be sure to attend the Shay Community Center’s  “Appreciation Dinner” that will be held (today) Thursday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m.  The center will provide the meal and fellowship to enjoy. Also, your dues for the upcoming year are due at this time.

The Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 17 at 11:30 a.m. at the Buncombe Creek Community Center, also that evening our local Volunteer Fire Dept. will be having their meeting at the Fire Station at 7pm. Both of these groups meet every month and would love to have new members and input.

The lake is very warm right now but I haven’t heard yet if there are issues with the bad bacteria that tends to surface with the warmer temps. I’m still hearing the guides are catching their limit, so fishing is good to say the least on Lake Texoma.

It is with regret and sadness to report that Jim Blair, a longtime resident of Buncombe Creek left this world to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, September 09, 2019. He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family. Also, Ralph Graybeal is now home with Hospice. Prayers go out to the families.

Stay safe and have a great week.
