Buncombe:
It’s been a great summer so far, although can sure be hot at times.
Shay’s Ice Cream Social was held on Thursday, August 8 was a hit I was told and there are still quite a bit of tickets left for the quilt raffle. The proceeds will help fund the center’s costs.
As a reminder, the Texoma Southern Baptist Church will have the Open Arms Clothes Closet open from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August
17. Also, I want to mention that the Children’s and Youth Wednesday Night Activities at the church will resume on August 28.
Another Bingo night is coming up on August 17 at 6:30 p.m. for the mini games and 7:30 p.m. for the regular bingo. It is always held at the Buncombe Creek Community Center in Perry Park so be sure to come and enjoy the games. Bring your favorite nibble for finger food to share.
The Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the Community Center. Come try us out for a nice luncheon and see what we are doing in the near future.
Our local Volunteer Fire Dept. will be having their monthly meeting at the Fire Station at 7:00 p.m. on August 20 as well.
The Bash for Cash will be August 15 at Tanglewood. Be sure to attend.
