United States Representative Markwayne Mullins held the last of three town hall meetings on November 7. The tour, which covered the southern Oklahoma states, was to inform residents on the impeachment process, and how he believes it is not being handled properly.

Mullins who is a Republican has been serving the Okla. Second district since 2013. He began the meeting by informing the attendees that everything he was showing had no bias, that it was taken exactly how it was said.

“There is no spin to this, it is exactly what was said,” Mullins stated.

He began by explaining that only three prior presidents faced impeachment; Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. Then, Mullins went on to set up the time line of events.

Mullins described Adam Schiff to the attendees. He is the Chairman of the US House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. According to Mullins, this position holds quite a bit of weight.

“He has a lot of trust on both sides of the aisle,” Mullins said.

On September 13, Schiff claimed to have never met the whistleblower who was claiming to have damning information on President Donald Trump. The problem, Mullins noted was Schiff and the committee met with the whistleblower in early August before the complaint was filed on August 12.

Mullins played a video where Schiff claims to have never met the whistleblower, even though the proof shows otherwise. “Schiff lied three times in less than a week to the people.”

The representative pointed out the difference between the prior three impeachments to the current possible one – the prior three, the alleged crimes happened first, then the impeachment. With Trump’s, they are chasing smoke, Mullins said. They are trying to start the impeachment process without an alleged crime being committed.

“They are in search of a crim on Trump,” he said.

Mullins spoke about the phone call that everybody is talking about. He said a full transcript that was released by the White House does not contain a shred of what Schiff claimed did.

After he went over other issues, like Congressman Al Green’s comment saying, “We have to impeach him, otherwise he’s going to win the election.” He also brought up another representative who said, “if Trump is innocent, let him prove it.”

This comment animated Mullins, and he became really serious. “The media should be screaming at the top of their lungs,” he said.

When

did things change, Mullins wondered out loud. It used to be innocent until proven guilty. He said one main concern was if they can do it to the president, they will not think twice to do it to an everyday person.

Mullins closed the meeting by thanking everybody for attending, and being so laid back. “My other two meetings weren’t this calm,” Mullins said.
